What is the difference between AI and AF lenses used for Digital SLR Cameras. Which is best to buy?
I have seen this terminology for Nikon, got confused, walked out of shop in london
AI (auto indexing) lenses are manual focusing lenses
AF (auto focus) lenses are auto-focusing lenses.
DSLR’s are autofocus cameras so buy AF lenses; AF-S, AF-I are the most current ones (1992 to present)
